Main Market

The Main Square is doubtlessly Cracow’s largest attraction. Located in the city center, it is Cracow’s largest square (about 4 hectares in area) and one of Europe’s largest market squares. The always vibrant Main Square measures 200 meters on each side, and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The steps of all tourists arriving in Krakow lead right to the Market. It is here that some of Krakow's most important monuments and iconic sites are located. It houses the magnificent Cloth Hall, the National Museum, the tower of the City Hall, the Adam Mickiewicz monument, St. Mary's Church and St. Adalbert's Church, among others. The square is surrounded by magnificent monumental tenement houses, which are true symbols of the city's commercial and cultural history. Famous restaurants and cafes are also located here, as well as clubs located in the cellars, with the famous Cellar under the Rams at the forefront.

One of the Main Square’s major attractions is the Rynek Underground Museum. This fascinating exhibition situated below the square presents part of foundations of medieval Cracow, excavated by archaeologists between 2005 and 2010.

Do you want to live right on the Main Square in Krakow? You can choose from apartments located in a historic building Feniks located at the junction of St. John's Street and Market Square. Some apartments have side-view terraces, windows with comfortable seats Facing directly onto the market, we also offer suite with jacuzzi (From the windows you can see the roofs of the nearby stone buildings surrounding the market).
